Modal is not defined

Please i have download boostrap modal 4 in atmosphere , but when i use Modal.show(‘exampleModal’, instance.data) to open show my modal , i have this error in my browser:

main.js:42 Uncaught ReferenceError: Modal is not defined.

Please help me.
