I recently wanted to get back to developing with meteor. I ran the installer on my Mac and it appears to have installed successfully, but any meteor command I run fails instantly with the message:
Terminated: 15
create, help, update, etc all result in the same message.
$ node --version
v12.16.1
$ npm --version
6.13.4
Any ideas are welcomed. I’ve tried fresh install several times.

what does meteor node --version
say? How did you install meteor?

I think your installation is corrupted, you may need to remove .meteor
folder from your home directory, typically found in ~/.meteor
then try to install meteor again.

$ meteor node --version
Terminated: 15
Same as any other command.

Here’s what I tried:
$ sudo rm /usr/local/bin/meteor
$ rm -rf ~/.meteor
$ curl https://install.meteor.com/ | sh
Meteor 1.9.2 has been installed in your home directory (~/.meteor).
Writing a launcher script to /usr/local/bin/meteor for your convenience.
To get started fast:
meteor create ~/my_cool_app
cd ~/my_cool_app
$ meteor
Or see the docs at:
docs.meteor.com
Deploy and host your app with Galaxy:
$ meteor help
Terminated: 15

What version of Mac OS? Is this on Catalina?

Ok, the meteor command is a bash (shell) script
head -1 /usr/local/bin/meteor
#!/usr/bin/env bash
maybe which ever bash it picks on your system does not work? Can you just check /usr/bin/env bash
and see what it shows?

Weird, all I can tell you that it works find on my Mojave laptop. Maybe you can trace the script bash -x /usr/local/bin/meteor
to see where it fails?

$ bash -x /usr/local/bin/meteor

+ METEOR_WAREHOUSE_DIR=/Users/ddanna/.meteor

Is the result. This doesn’t tell me much, but maybe you can discern something?

Odd, my /usr/local/bin/meteor
is a symbolic link to ~/.meteor/meteor
. What happens when you bash -x /Users/ddanna/.meteor/meteor
?
