Atmosphere Repurposing

So I understand that Meteor wants to use NPM primarily in the future and I think that’s a great idea.

But we all know NPM has terrible search. What if Atmosphere crawled NPM and found Meteor packages, allowing Meteor users to search for Meteor’s NPM packages through Atmosphere?

That would mean Atmosphere would still have a practical use and wouldn’t have to be done away with.

@mz103 - I believe this is exactly what MDG is planning. Atmosphere will become a subset of NPM. I have read it somewhere in forum.

I’ve been thinking about this for awhile now. I hope that they use Zoltan’s idea of using it to compile to NPM packages.
