Can I find a remote job in my situation?

I’ve been unemployed for almost a month and am looking for a long-term remote job with a salary of around $6 per hour, roughly $1,000 per month.
My main skills are full-stack JavaScript, Meteor.js, Node.js, React, and Python (AI applications, training, and tuning).
My spoken English is not great, but I have no issues with reading. Is it possible for me to find a remote job in this situation?

I’ve recently been in the same boat, sadly the Meteor companies pool is small and those who’re willing to hire remotely are even smaller. Though that shouldn’t discourage your efforts, I’d recommend reaching out coldly to Meteor companies out there. Be creative with how you find companies using Meteor. If I told you how that’d nip it in the bud. I was able to construct this list by nothing but sheer grit and a little bit of creativity.

I don’t think I’ve managed to find out a company that had recently discovered Meteor and building with it, rather OGs who have built their applications using Meteor and keep the flame burning.

One company that immediately comes to mind is lemlist, @MickaelFM is always hiring and is on the forums too. https://www.linkedin.com/in/mika-f/ Though you’d need a strong algorithm & DS background to pass their interviews.

Lastly, as a fellow Meteor & remote developer, I think you can be earning a lot more than what you’re requesting. For reference you can checkout Quave salaries

They based in Latin America and targeting US/European clients and you can actually be earning more than what they’re advertising if you work for a company developing its own software than an offshore software shop who’s acting as a middle man.

From a fellow Meteor dev to another, best of luck

We might have something for you. If you could DM me with just a brief summary of your experience so I can get an idea of what to do with you so to speak. :joy:

Looking for someone with a couple years working with either Meteor or Vue.
