Can't connect to local server on Firefox & Safari (works on Chrome)

I’ve been building a project in Chrome with no issues, but today I tested it in Firefox and Safari, and no data is being returned to the client.

For what it’s worth, I’m using the most recent version of Meteor (1.5.2.2)

I’m using Blaze as the view layer with template level subscriptions as recommended in the guide.

Here are the errors that the console is throwing

The connection to ws://localhost:3000/sockjs/920/3b947i9r/websocket was interrupted while the page was loading.

Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at ws://localhost:3000/sockjs/920/3b947i9r/websocket.

Below those two errors (which only appear on Firefox) an Exception in template helper: error gets thrown for each helper pointing to meteor.js:942:11

Here is the actual helper error, it’s pretty large and messy so ignore this if need be:

Any help is much appreciated, I’m a tad worried that this won’t work in production either, but hopefully it’s just a local thing.

Thanks!

Wild guess.

You have a JS error, that Chrome magically handles, where others do not.

Possible solution:

Meteor create newApp

Try that. If it works, move your stuff in bit by bit until it breaks. Good luck!

Thanks for your answer SkyRooms, I figured out what was going on, and solved the issue. I have a user conditional publication and when opening up a different browser that user is obviously not logged in, so the data doesn’t return…

I feel silly posting this question, so if there’s a way to close a topic let’s mark this as closed. Sorry, I’m currently knocking off some rust with Meteor. :male_detective:
