How to host on Meteor Galaxy with DNS simplified for custom domain

I really appreciated the ease by which I could deploy my meteor application to Galaxy but figuring out the DNS was such a pain because my domain was registered on HostGator which doesn’t allow you to edit the DNS without hosting with them. To solve this problem I used NameCheap and kept my domain on HostGator. I didn’t want others to run into the same problem so I wrote a blog post about it.
