Hey everyone!
I’m Italo José, the newest OSS engineer on the Meteor Core team! Some of you might know me from the Node.js world—I was at Node Source, but now I’ve jumped over to Meteor, and I couldn’t be more excited to be here.
Who Am I?
- First things first—the “JS” in “italojs” is for José, not JavaScript!
- I love giving talks and organizing community events. If there’s a meetup happening, I’m probably there!
- I’m a performance enthusiast—I worked on performance at Node Source and hope to bring that same focus to Meteor to make it even faster and more efficient.
- Super pumped to work with everyone in the Meteor community, from the team to contributors and users!
- My DMs are always open—let’s chat!
My Open Source Journey
I’ve been around the open-source world for a while, contributing here and there. I made some small contributions to the Node.js core and ExpressJS core, as well as participating in a few working groups.
A few years back, I also worked on an open-source project with a similar philosophy to Meteor: HerbsJS. The goal was to make devs’ lives easier and focus on the product, just like Meteor does. Now, I get to bring that experience here—can’t wait to build cool things with you all!
Nomad Life & Crazy Adventures 
Like a lot of folks on the Meteor team, I’m a digital nomad. But here’s the wild part—I once lived in a Kombi motorhome for six months! 
It was an insane experience, and now I’m taking it to the next level: moving into a bus motorhome!
