Meteor 1.8 update: "Unexpected mongo exit code 14. Restarting."

When updating from 1.7.0.5 to 1.8 I ran into this error again:

“Unexpected mongo exit code 62. Restarting.”

Updating to 1.7.1: Unexpected mongo exit code 62. Restarting

I’m getting this error and working on it via discussion on this github thread:

I ran the steps to fix it and now started getting:

“Unexpected mongo exit code 14. Restarting.”

Any ideas how to fix this?

I would prefer not to run “meteor reset”
