Meteor Desktop undocumented

From www.meteor.com
"Meteor is an open source platform for web, mobile, and desktop."
But there’s no mention of Desktop in the Guide or the API docs.
There’s no Desktop forum.
Google Searching for “Meteor Desktop” doesn’t turn up
anything that looks integrated into Meteor.
Please help me understand this apparent inconsistency.
Thanks!

I’ve wondered about this myself. I think (but don’t know) that it might have to do with previous efforts to make Meteor desktop apps using Electron. Seems like I saw talk of pulling into core at one time. There are several packages out there to help you turn a Meteor app into a desktop app using Electron. A brief search on “meteor electron js” led me to meteor-electron as a possibly up-to-date candidate. I can’t speak for effectiveness as I’ve never tried it, only read about it.

Here’s the associated talk (from a past Meteor Devshop):

And the associated blog post from Mixmax: Turn-key Electron apps with Meteor

There is also the very neat Nativefier tool that can transform any website to an electron app.

I personally use it for Google inbox so I can stay logged in at multiple accounts simultaneous, but I guess it could be fun to use with Meteor too.
