Modulus becomes Xervo!

For all of you hosting on Modulus, some pretty big news from the company!

Thoughts? How have you felt about modulus as a whole? And has anyone hosted their MongoDB on Modulus?

Modulus as a service is great, but very pricey.

How does it compare to Galaxy?

Free month of Galaxy for people switching!

You should have a free month in general  Or at least 15 days.

Hey, that’s not a bad idea. I only work on the OSS stuff, that’s up to the Galaxy team! I’ll pass along the feedback.

Modulus has got some decent deployment tools. They sometimes fall behind when there’s an update to Meteor which causes you to either have to switch to an earlier version of Meteor or an earlier version of their deployment tool which can sometimes be a pain (spent some late nights converting code because of this one!).

Galaxy, having been built by MDG, has a pretty smooth deployment pipeline and is generally pretty easy. It’s sort of like having meteor deploy back. I just wish MDG would include a MongoDB with it so the price didn’t have to jump.

Completely agree! I’ve got a help post that goes into that more.

In my opinion, Galaxy is far superior. I used both.
