I have just released an update to my package rwatts:uuid .
The package is now at version 0.1.0 , which added the ability to generate a 4 character uuid by calling the uuid.tiny() method.
Currently there are two methods that may be called when using this package, uuid.new() and uuid.tiny() . There are plans in future releases to implement more uuid options, but for now head over to atmosphere and check it out.
