My question here is: what do I need to make server for meteor apps from an old PC? 
Should I boot ubuntu or windows server OS or classic windows or ubuntu ? Thanks for help!
For your own local server Ubuntu Server would be a reliable choice. Digitalocean has a nice tutorial on the initial setup of Ubuntu 14.0.4. After that you can then deploy the Meteor app using mupx.
