Tuumik - team management for hybrid work

We recently made our app Tuumik “source-available” on github. Since it is built on Meteor, seemed prudent to post a link here as well.

Tuumik provides time and availability tracking (i.e. timesheets and in/out board). Once time is tracked, the timesheet data can be exported to spreadsheets for additional processing and PDFs, such as annexes to invoices.

You can have a quick whirl in the app with fake data in the live demo environment. Select Track Time from top menu, double click on the relevant position and then drag the top and bottom border of the box to adjust - this is the gist of Tuumik. Each box is an entry in the timesheet.

Most of Tuumik’s features are built with law firms in mind. I was an attorney myself for a decade in a larger law firm and Tuumik encompasses my experiences over that time. However, as remote work has become more prevalent, much of this is applicable to any team that does hybrid work.

Tuumik is not open source. It is proprietary software and not released under an open source license like GPL, MIT etc. However, its source code is made publicly available and it is free to use for small teams.

So it’s not open source - does that mean I can’t fork it and extend it for my own purposes?
Would you want contributions?

Tuumik’s license says that you can modify it for your own use, but you cannot then distribute the modified version to others. The goal here is not to hold back any users from setting up Tuumik in a way that best fits their own needs. After all, that’s the point of making it source-available.

Regarding contributions, I am always up to have a chat about any development. If it’s for your own use, the sky is the limit. For contributions directly to the public repo, it’s best to have a chat first to see if it fits the current plans.
