I believe the Meteor extension for VS Code no longer works.
Could save some time for new comers if it was just removed from the docs.
Could you provide an issue to the original repository?
Anyway, I noticed other reported issues, and this package doesn’t seem to be actively maintained. @matheusccastro, is there any plan to get fixes there?

Hey! Yeah, I stopped working on this, but I have plans to get back working on it soon! 
About the thread issue, if it was working before it should still be working hehe, since we didn’t made any changes/new releases.
Please open an issue in the repository and we will fix it here.

My problem was that I wasted my time with the Meteor documentation, so I will open an issue there to have the reference to this extension removed.
