We’re looking for a senior full-stack developer to join our team and develop/maintain our platform, on a part-time basis, until international travel resumes (prognosis end 2021). From the signs of first recovery we will start scaling up and the position will require full-time focus.
We have built a strong platform to support our services in refunding Value Added Tax to international travellers visiting The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and UK. Our platform consists of various mobile applications, API’s to third parties like cash register systems and heavy duty data work.
We were ready to scale and expand in the EU, but then Covid-19 came and plans changed. Although we strongly believe international travels will resume again, we will have to see in what shape and form. In the meantime we are adapting to the new situation in which our IT needs to be maintained and updated on a weekly basis. As the new world and reality is starting to form, we are planning new projects and have new ideas on how to contribute to sustainable shopping.
We are looking for a team-player, with a broad spectrum of knowledge and who has been around. Our team works agile, self-directed and is not afraid of pioneering and experimenting. For maintaining the platform it is initially required you have a strong sense of responsibility and ownership, you are flexible and accessible to keep the platform maintained and running on a daily basis and your attention to detail is what sets you apart from your peers.
Your work
- Maintain our 7 applications (3 mobile, 4 web applications)
- Write APIs and consume them
- Update infrastructure and keep things running
- Analytics: measure all the things!
- Improvement of our technology stack, project based
Our ambition is to help people claim back value added tax over their shopping done abroad, in the most convenient and accessible way. Our expertise is relevant and personal for different customer groups like military staff and diplomats, addressing customer needs and partnering with shops to provide a value added service online as well as in brick stores. We therefore serve both Retail and Private Persons.
Our team consists of operational staff, a sales team and an art director. Our current senior lead developer will leave our team as of January 2021. You will replace his position.
Your profile
- Full stack developer with at least 10 years of experience
- Knowledge of financial services and developments
- Experienced in amongst others Javascript (MeteorJS on NodeJS), REST APIs and MongoDB
- Preferably experienced with MongoDB Atlas and Heroku
- Fluent in English & preferably Dutch
