What's new for CompileStep API in 1.2?

According to the wiki, it looks like some of the CompileStep API is being depricated in 1.2

meteor/meteor

Does anyone know what these APIs will look like post 1.2?

I’m more interested in Plugin.registerSourceHandler(fileExtension, handler) docs here
