Meteor 2.0 MongoDB Galaxy vs Atlas

I just read the Mongo 2.0 blog post announcement. Congratulations!

I saw the example command meteor deploy myapp.meteorapp.com --free --mongo Does this mean Galaxy is hosting MongoDB?

How does this compare to MongoDB Atlas? Is it using Atlas under the hood?

Thanks!

Hi,

The documentation says its for demo/development/hobby sites not production ready so Its most likely not using Atlas. There is a free tier on Atlas too but this can scale to production level when needed.

A.

As @annie stated, I think this meant for hobbyists, open-source demos, prototyping etc. Not meant to be a production scalable DB offering, there is a lot that goes into creating that.

Oh I didn’t realize there was already docs about “—mongo” option.

I can’t seem to find it, can you post a link @annie ?

Thanks!
